Welcome
The Whitefish Chain of Lakes Area is located a Paul Bunyan stone's throw north of Brainerd, between the quaint communities of Pequot Lakes and Crosslake, in north central Minnesota. You could say that we're in the recreational heart of the land of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.
This region is home to many family-owned resorts and hotels, as well as various other lodging options. The beautiful, natural scenery includes lakes, beaches, islands and forests and there are trails for biking hiking and snowmobiling located throughout the area.
There are approximately 25 golf courses within a 30 mile radius of the Whitefish Chain, and a great variety of restaurants from fine dining to lakeside dining and everything in between. The fishing is phenomenal, the attractions (which include go-carts, mini-golf and museums) are ideal for family entertaining, and the area shopping is exceptional. The area is also home to the national Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway driving route which winds its way around the Whitefish Chain of Lakes Area.
The area is also known for various unique festivals such as Ice Fest, Antique Snowmobile Rendezvous, St. Patrick's Day, Classic Wooden Boat Show, Bean Hole Days and many more throughout the year.
The fun carries over into the winter when the water freezes over and the ground becomes snow covered. Ice fishing take center stage, out come the skis and snowmobiles and winter activities abound.
No matter the season, the Whitefish Chain of Lakes Area provides a variety of options for entertainment and lodging.
