Sure, we haven't yet officially kicked off the Christmas season, but it's just around the corner and it'll be here before we know it. You can get ready for the season and enjoy the festive beauty ahead of time by joining the Christmas Home Tour. The best part? Proceeds from your ticket go to the Lakes Area Food Shelf.
This tour gives its participants the inspiration they need to create their own beautiful holiday home. Nisswa businesses bring out their best and most beautiful to decorate a lakes area home so it's decked out with holiday cheer.
The home tour will take place Thursday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20. You can pick your shuttle time when you purchase your ticket online. Hurry, as some slots are already filled. Meet your shuttle 20 minutes ahead of time outside of the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center in downtown Nisswa.
Following the tour, you'll be dropped off back in Nisswa where you can peruse the shops and pick up the items you just saw on your tour! Businesses decorating for the tour include Buffalo Plaid, The Green Porch and Woodland Meadow.
This event has been going on for 30 years, a testament to its quality and the benefit it has on our local food shelf.
Tickets are $38 and are available online. Tickets are a charitable contribution to the Lakes Area Food Shelf, an organization that serves many of the communities around the Whitefish Chain, especially at the holidays. During the holiday season the food shelf provides families in need with holiday dinners- everything they need, from the turkey to the stuffing to the pie. Because tickets are considered a donation, refunds are not provided.
