The week leading up to Halloween holds lots of fun activities all around the Whitefish Chain! From parties, to trick or treating, to spooky haunted villages, the Lakes Area has it all.
Children's Halloween Parties/Events:
Kids will love the annual Children's Halloween Party at the Crosslake Community Center on Oct. 29 from noon to 2 p.m. Kids can come in costume to play games and enjoy treats. The event is free to attend and always a big hit for locals and visitors alike.
The Good Samaritan Society in Pine River will also host an annual Children's Halloween Party Monday, Oct. 31 from 3:30-5 p.m.
The Pequot Lakes American Legion will hand out Halloween bags filled with goodies to trick or treaters beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Halloween.
Crosslake Lutheran Church's Trunk Or Treat will be on Halloween from 6-8:30 p.m. A "Trunk or Treat" is a trick or treating event in the parking lot where kids can collect candy and goodies from cars in a safe environment. Vehicles will be decorated in the parking lot, and Halloween games will take place in the Fellowship Hall. Food will be available.
On Monday, Oct. 31, a haunted house will be open across the street from the Pine River Public Library. It will be open from 6-8 p.m.; admission is $2.
The Nisswa Fire Department will host the 19th Annual Haunted Barn and Hay Rides on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Zimmerman Farm at 8089 Garden Road, east of Nisswa. A less-scary version of the haunted barn will take place from 5:30-6:30, with a scarier version from 7-9 p.m. Free will donations will be accepted.
Crosslake's Haunted Village continues its performances at the Historic Log Village on Oct. 28-29, from dusk until 10 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults and $7 for kids under 16. The Haunted Village is an interactive walk-through of the Historic Log Village and is spooky fun for the family.
Adult Halloween Parties
Moonlite Bay in Crosslake will have a Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 29 with cash prizes for the best costume. D.J JP will be spinning from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Moonlite promises drink specials and fun!
Maucieri's in Crosslake will have a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 29 with Jell-O shots, food specials and a costume contest at 9:30 p.m. with prizes for first, second and third place. Come in costume and get your second drink free.
The Old Milwaukee Club in Ideal Corners will have a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 29, featuring music from Squeezers and The Geezers.
Lucky's Tavern in Pequot Lakes will have a Halloween Party Oct. 29 with drink specials, including two for one drinks for those in costume from 4-6 p.m. and an appetizer buffet at 4 p.m. The costume contest at 6 p.m. will have a $100 prize for first place, $100 gift card for second and $50 gift card for third. Games include Witch's Toss at 2 p.m., Halloween Bingo at 3 p.m. and Trick or Treat at 5 p.m. with a $100 prize (must be 21 to play).
JJ's Pub in Breezy Point will have a Pre-Halloween Bash on Tues, Oct. 25 from 8 p.m. to midnight featuring Mark Stary. A costume contest will be held with cash prizes. It's a great chance to hit a local Halloween Party if you are busy over the weekend.
Commander in Breezy Point will have a Halloween Party Saturday, Oct. 29 beginning at 9:30 p.m., with costume judging at 11 p.m. with cash prizes.
Billy's at Breezy Point will hold Billy's Halloween Bash on Saturday, Oct. 29 with costume contest judging at 9 p.m., free appetizers from 8-9 p.m., free Jell-O shots and $1 off all drinks from 7-9 p.m.
The Jenkins VFW will have a Halloween Bash on Friday, Oct. 28 with drink specials, creepy cocktails and wicked wings. A costume contest will be held for cash prizes and music will be by Sideways Entertainment.
