Dance and Play at the East Side Street Dance

The Rusty Crayfish Brass Band will play a free street dance in Pequot Lakes on Aug. 30 from 7-9 p.m.

Local Pequot Lakes businesses are hosting a street dance featuring the Rusty Crayfish Brass Band on Friday, Aug. 30. Enjoy music, outdoor games and community fun from 7-9 p.m. The event is free and open to everyone.

N. Washington Avenue between Main St. and Oriole St. (next to the Jack Pine Center) will be closed to traffic in order to make room for fun and dancing. Rusty Crayfish is a New Orleans-style ten piece brass band that plays both original music and covers. The local musicians, including the band teachers at both Brainerd and Pequot Lakes high schools, have played their lively, upbeat music at numerous local venues and festivals.

In addition to the music, there will be face painting by local artist Alison Sommerness and a giveaway hosted by Seeds of Sommer. Across the street, the Pequot Lakes American Legion will be serving up brats and beverages to go along with the music.

The Pequot Lakes businesses hosting the event wish to thank the community for a great summer season. For more information, check out the Facebook event page or the Rusty Crayfish Brass Band Facebook page.
