Sure, the bars and restaurants are closed for eat in, and sure, we're all advised to stay six feet away from each other. But lucky for us, here on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes in Minnesota we have something that is very much approved in these Coronavirus times: Mother Nature.
The great outdoors are the perfect place to practice social distancing, and up here they're beautiful. Though spring is just getting rolling, there's plenty to do to get yourself out of the house to experience everything that nature has to offer and stay safe at the same time.
One enjoyable activity is hitting the walking trails. Check out our interactive map of hiking and biking trails to find one that looks like fun. They're all beautiful, but for walking we love the Veterans Walking Trail and Uppgaard Wildlife Management Area. If the snow is too much, bust out those snowshoes!
Birdwatching is another great activity during the time of social distancing. After all, the rules don't apply to birds, and just try to get within six feet of one anyway! Check out our birding page for more info.
It might be early for biking now, but it won't be long before the area's nice 8-foot shoulders and the Paul Bunyan Trail are ready for two wheels.
